Before Sleep Meditation, HS
Daily Practice Explanation:
Awakening meditation: Connect to higher self* and say "this is my true nature. May I stabilize in natural awareness and take all actions necessary today. How wonderful to wake to this possibility! May all beings benefit!!" Or, upon awakening from sleep and ordinary dreams, see it as awakening to enlightenment from the density of illusion.
The Alone Practice
The Four Reflections: Reflect on the precious opportunity you have, impermanence, cause and effect, and the vicious cycle of samsara. Use the Karmapa's or others' versions for inspiration.The Orientation to Benefit All: Do the contemplations that recognize the SIMILARITY OF SELF AND OTHERS...i.e. We are all in the same boat and need help. Notice your own desire for happiness and wish it for all beings. Since only the supreme dharma, which is TRUTH, can liberate from the cycle of the six confused psychological states**, powerfully wish that all beings become quickly enlightened.

Notice similarity of self and others.
Practice not being serious.
Do your best at your work.
Notice your speech and make it beneficial
Imitate and rejoice in good things, ignore the bad.In Bed Before Sleep Meditation: Did I live, love and laugh?? For a brief moment have your higher self flash your day by. See all the parts of the day appearing that were not in the full potential and higher self going into creation mode. See them merge and rejoice that all the day is perfect. Bless all beings and wish them the best. Or, see the process of falling to sleep as the death process and imagine you are dying and going through the transition in the purest way possible.
*this is not conceptual self or what people think of as their self or soul, so it must be introduced in a special way .
